Santa Fe College women's basketball earned its first win in Central Conference play the hard way, on the road at Daytona State College on Saturday afternoon by a 59-49 margin.

The Saints never trailed in this one to pick up their ninth win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Santa Fe went on a 7-0 run to conclude the opening quarter and led 18-9 after the game's first ten minutes.

The lead grew to 12 points in the second quarter, and sat at 10 headed into halftime, 25-15.

The Saints held Daytona State to just 17 percent from the field in the first half, as defense was the name of the game in the early going.

Every time Daytona State was able to make a little push in the second half, the Saints had a swift response, and Santa Fe never let the Falcons any closer than six points the rest of the way.
