Census Bureau: 85% of people in Citrus County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 151,888 citizens living in Citrus County in 2021, 85% were old enough to vote, equating to 129,077 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 62,320 were male, constituting 48.3%, and 66,757 were female, making up 51.7%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Citrus County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 80%.
