City of Inverness issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.
Friends of the Withlacoochee State Trails invites you to join their membership meeting September 16,2021. Interested in becoming a new member? Join the group and hear what the organization is all about. The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 212 W. Main St. Inverness Fl 34450.
Featured Speaker Jeff Glenn from the Florida Trail Association will be joining the meeting. Jeff manages 400 miles of the Florida Trail on the eastern and western corridors of the trail from the Ocala National Forest to Suwannee River State Park and from Green Swamp West to Silver Springs State Park. He joined the FTA in 2013. Jeff works with volunteers and agency partners to coordinate trail construction, maintenance, protection, gap closures, and outreach efforts. He also engages volunteers in stewardship events on the Florida National Scenic Trail.
