Back to School Safety Tip IV

2

Citrus County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.

Whoa, slow down! There's no need to rush to school if you've left early enough for unexpected events. If you do find yourself running behind, it isn't worth driving over the speed limit or risking the safety of others, especially in school zones!

Just think, if you drive over the speed limit and one of our deputies pulls you over, you'll be later than before! Being tardy is better than getting a ticket!

Be aware of flashing lights, crossing guards, and pedestrians in crossing zones around school areas. Additionally, be cognizant of the reduced speed limits in school zones.

Keep your eyes on the road, watch out for pedestrians, and drive safely, Citrus!
