Citrus County recently issued the following announcement.
Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) staff recognized employee Glenn Piper, Chief Mechanic for the Fleet Management Division, for his 42 years of service to
the county. Mr. Piper began his employment with the BOCC in November 1978 as an Equipment Maintenance Mechanic in the Road Maintenance Division. In 1983, he transferred
to Fleet Management (then called Transportation Services). He worked his way up through the Heavy Equipment Mechanic I & II positions and was promoted to Chief Mechanic in
2002. His last day serving the citizens of Citrus County was Friday, July 30, 2021. “Glenn Piper was a valued employee over his four decades of service to Citrus County,” said
Randall Olney, Director of Public Works. “Glenn has been a dedicated employee with a positive attitude who was always willing to help teach others based on his knowledge
gained from his years of experience. Glenn will be missed both based on the capabilities he brought to the County as the Chief Mechanic, as well his friendly, positive, and
humorous personality.” Citrus County would like to thank Mr. Piper once again for his dedication to the organization over his many years of service and wish him an enjoyable and
