SF Announces COVID-19 Vaccine Incentives – Be Safe, Saints

Sf

Santa Fe College issued the following announcement on Sept. 15.

Santa Fe College is launching an initiative to motivate our community to get vaccinated for COVID-19. Any full- or part-time college employee and any current student at Santa Fe College who has received two shots of Pfizer or Moderna or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by October 31, 2021, will receive a one-time, non-recurring payment of $60.

In addition, all those who receive the financial incentive will also be eligible to receive additional rewards through a random drawing. Participating students will be entered to have an opportunity to receive a $250 bookstore voucher as well as a designated parking spot for the Spring 2022 semester. Employees will also be eligible to receive a designated parking spot for the Spring 2022 semester at any of the college’s locations, including Lot 1 and 1A on the NW Campus, or a spot closer to their assigned building if preferred.

This incentive program is fully voluntary for anyone who receives the vaccination by October 31 including those who have already received it. For those who choose to participate, proof of vaccination will be required to be presented for viewing by Human Resources or Student Affairs, either face-to-face or virtually.

SF employees who wish to participate must contact Benefits Manager Beverly Polk at beverly.polk@sfcollege.edu to arrange an in-person or Zoom appointment to verify vaccination. Employees can receive their vaccination any time until October 31 and must schedule their appointment with Beverly no later than November 5 in order to receive the incentive. Upon confirmation, employees will receive the $60 incentive, less any applicable taxes, in their November 30 payroll.

SF students who wish to participate can use a Zoom room Monday, November 1, through Friday, November 5. Alternatively, students can visit a location to be designated at any center or campus to have their vaccination status verified in person. Details regarding the Zoom room and campus locations will be provided at sfcollege.edu/covid19/incentive in October. Once vaccination status is confirmed, students will receive the $60 through BankMobile via their payment method preference set up on eSantaFe. Payments will be viewable on students’ My FA Status by November 30, 2021.

Santa Fe College understands that the decision to vaccinate is a very personal one, and that each individual must make the best decisions in coordination with their medical provider. Many public health experts have shared that vaccination is the best way to mitigate the risk of COVID-19, and we strongly encourage all students and employees to be safe Saints by getting vaccinated if possible. Free vaccines are available at local pharmacies, Publix, and the local Health Department; vaccine events are also held periodically at the College.
