Citrus County Agricultural Alliance Meeting Speaker Talks Record Rainfall

Citrus

County of Citrus recently issued the following announcement.

The public is invited to attend the Agricultural Alliance of Citrus County on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 8:00am for their monthly meeting. Guest speaker Mark Fulkerson, Ph.D.,

P.E. from the Southwest  Florida  Water  Management  District  (SWFWMD)  will  present  an  overview  of  this summer’s record rainfall and widespread flooding in Citrus County.

From June through September, rain gauges across the County reported the highest wet season rainfall total ever recorded. As a result, hundreds of roadways, homes, businesses,

and properties flooded. Some flooding continues today. Dr. Fulkerson will offer a question-and-answer session following his presentation.

The meeting will be held at the UF/IFAS Extension office (3650 W Sovereign Path, at the Lecanto Government Complex).  The office is the first building on the right when you enter

the complex. For more information, call (352) 527-5700.
