University of Florida issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.
Florida women's tennis will compete at the UNF Invitational this weekend to conclude the fall season.
One final fall season tune-up awaits Florida women's tennis when the Gators head to Jacksonville, Fla., for the North Florida Invitational from Nov. 12-14.
Four Gators will make the short trip over to Jacksonville, including Alicia Dudeney, Sara Dahlstrom, Emma Shelton and Bente Spee.
Dudeney and Spee most recently competed for the Gators, making an appearance at the Georgia Invitational in late October. Spee posted a perfect 3-0 mark in singles competition, pushing her fall record to 9-5. The pair also recorded earned a 2-1 record as a doubles team.
Shelton will be appearing on the court for the first time since the ITA Southeast Regional Championships where she earned three singles victories, including her first ranked win of the season over No. 65 Ava Hrastar of Georgia Tech, helping push her record to 6-2 in fall singles competition.
Making her first appearance of the fall campaign will be Sara Dahlstrom. Dahlstrom was tabbed to the All-SEC Freshman team during the 2020-21 season. At UNF, Dahlstrom and Dudeney will pair up for doubles competition, as will Shelton and Spee.
Florida women's tennis is coming off a successful weekend at the ITA Fall National Championships that saw Carly Briggs and Marlee Zein capture the doubles consolation title. After falling in the opening match of the championships, the duo rattled-off four straight wins to capture the title.
Following the UNF Invitational, Florida will begin training for the spring season which will open on Thursday, Jan. 13 with the Freeman Memorial in Las Vegas.
