No. 24 Men's Basketball Runs Past Central Pointe Prep, 116-59

Santa Fe College issued the following announcement on Dec. 16.

No. 24 Santa Fe College Men's Basketball had no trouble with visiting Central Pointe Prep, heading into the holidays with a 116-59 thrashing of the White Tigers.

First Half – SF 56, CPP 29

The Saints were full throttle from the tip, and came out to a 19-1 and 27-3 lead. Central Pointe Prep mustered just three points through nearly the game's first ten minutes of play, as the Saints forced tough shots, turnovers, and were able to get out in transition.

The largest lead of the opening half, 31, came after a string of 11 unanswered points as SF staked claim to a 42-11 lead.

Hasan Abdul-Hakim had a putback to beat the buzzer, and the Saints went into the halftime break with a 27-point advantage.

SF shot 50 percent (23-of-46) from the floor and had a whopping 38 points in the paint, many of which came on impressive finishes at the rim.

Second Half – SF 116, SF 59

The Saints doubled up the White Tigers in the second half, 60-30.

Three Saints had double-figures in the half, led by 14 from Nasir Mann and 11 from G'Shan Aldridge and Nicolas McClain.

Key Statistics

The 116 points was the Saints' season-high total.

SF also set season-highs in blocks (10) and tied the mark in assists (26).

The rebounding battle was lopsided, 66-29, and the Saints were much more efficient (55.6 percent) compared to CPP's 30.8 percent outing.

All 10 players who played scored, and seven different players were in double-digits.

Mann had a double-double with season-highs in points (18) and rebounds (12). McClain added a career-high 18, Kordell Brown and Brandon Farmer had 13 from the forward positions, and Bradley Douglas had 12.

Off the bench, G'Shan Aldridge (11 points) and Eddie Foster III (10 points) were efficient as well.

Up Next

The No. 24 Saints (12-2) will play Hillsborough for a third time this season on Thursday, Dec. 30 at the SF Gymnasium, the last game in the 2021 calendar year. SF beat the Hawks in the season's first two meetings.
