Citrus County Sheriff's Office recently issued the following announcement.
The month of January is dedicated to human trafficking awareness.
Some signs to look out for on identifying human trafficking include:
Out of the ordinary work and living conditions such as living on a working site, or not being able to leave or come and go at will.
Poor mental health such as constantly being anxious, depressed, or nervous.
Poor physical health, showing signs of malnourishment or fatigue.
Lack of control of their life - being frequently monitored, not allowed to speak for themselves, or having few or no personal possessions.
