Citrus County Sheriff's Office recently issued the following announcement.
Citrus, we are in for some potentially severe weather this weekend. Our partners at the US National Weather Service Tampa Bay Florida are not only expecting a strong cold front this weekend but are predicting a marginal risk for severe storms with damaging winds and minor coastal flooding for our area late Saturday night into Sunday. Water levels are expected to run 2 to 4 feet above normal tide level during this time.
Please take the time now to help protect yourself and your property by preparing and planning ahead. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property and do not drive through flooded roadways as there are hidden hazards.
