Florida Governor Race 2022 Polls: Governor Ron DeSantis is in the driving seat to be re-elected to another term as Florida Governor.
A Close Contest is on the Cards in the Democratic Party primary with both Charlie Crist and Nikki Fried on par both on Google Search and Social Media Sentiment.
After winning by less than a point in 2018 against Andrew Gillum, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to win re-election, as he leads most polls. His Democratic opponent will be chosen in a primary on August 23, 2022.

Polls show Charlie Crist with a decent lead, averaging 41% in the polls, while Fried polls at 29%. The two most recent polls, both conducted in August show a much closer race. Public Policy Polling is the only poll conducted so far that shows Fried with a lead, however, it is within the Margin of Error (+/- 6%).

Polls have been conducted asking head-to-heads between the incumbent and Crist as well as Fried.
His lead against Fried is over double digits while he leads by 8 points against the former Governor.

The latest Florida Governor poll by Suffolk University gives Ron DeSantis the lead over his opposition. DeSantis maintains a comfortable 6% point lead over Charlie Crist while against Nikki Fried he has a lead of 11%.
Susquehanna Polling and Research (R)‘s poll has some interesting bits of information. It shows why DeSantis is favoured to win another term.
- Ron DeSantis has an approval rating of 52%, with 43% disapproving. 42% of Floridians strongly approve of his job as Governor.
- It shows DeSantis in a close race against Crist, leading 46% to 43%. 7% remain undecided and 3% would vote for someone else
- It however shows him with a commanding lead against Nikki Fried as he leads her by 10 points, 50% to 40%.
- According to the recall vote, it shows a polled electorate that voted for Biden for 3 points, 50% to 47%, when Biden lost by 3 points in 2020.

There’s a large chunk of Puerto-Ricans in Florida, especially in the Orlando Metro area. They moved to Florida due to its cultural similarities, due to the poor economic conditions in Puerto Rico and after Hurricane Maria devastated the island in 2018. The remaining Latino population is very diverse, hailing from various countries from South America including Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela etc.
Florida has been crowned as one of the best places to retire due to its weather and beaches. Thus the state also has a large retiree population. 20% of the population is over 65 years of age.

Florida has been a reliable swing state since 1992 fiercely contested between the 2 major parties.
In the last 20 years, the Republican party has grown more powerful in Florida and has been able to win over most state-level elected offices. Currently, except the Agriculture Commissioner, it holds nearly each and every single office in the state including the 2 Senate seats and 16/27 US House Representative Seats.
As per the latest figures released by the Florida Secretary of State:-
Registered Republicans are 35.77% of total voters
Registered Democrats are 35.93% of total voters
Registered Independents are 26.54% of total voters
