Lawns in Central Florida
Citrus County Utilities’ Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program is offering a free gardening workshop on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 2:00-3:30pm. Managing a healthy lawn is often a full-time job and recurring expense. Selection of the right materials to accomplish a specific task is always the best place to start. Sustainable lawn varieties, as well as typical weed infestations and pests which target our lawns are highlighted during this workshop.
Florida-Friendly Fertilizing
Citrus County Utilities’ Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program is offering a free gardening workshop on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 2:00-3:30 pm. Fertilization of your lawn and landscape can be complicated. Using several steps, including soil testing, when and how to apply fertilizers, and effective irrigation practices after application are essential to proper fertilization. This program will discuss Florida Friendly fertilization practices developed by the University of Florida (UF).
9 Principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping
Citrus County Utilities Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program is offering a free gardening workshopon Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 6:00-7:30 pm. UF developed 9 basic principles to establish a set of gardening practices which aid gardeners in creating sustainable and successful ornamental
gardens. These practices allow gardeners to create beautiful landscapes, generating little or no impact to our water resources. Selection of the right plant for the right location, efficient irrigation, appropriate fertilization, and responsible pest management are several of the topics discussed during this workshop.
