This week marks the 10th anniversary in celebrating the field of forensic science and the significant contributions of forensic scientists to the criminal justice field. Quality forensic science is a critical element of intelligence-led policing that can exonerate the innocent, uncover crime trends, identify suspects, solve crimes and enhance public safety.
Forensics Supervisor Crystal Burts said “We here at CCSO are extremely blessed to have some of the most dedicated, hard-working, passionate and qualified men and women in our Forensics Unit. Every one of them give their all every day to provide the best Forensic Services possible to assist those in Patrol, CCD and CID. The enthusiasm that they show when they are able to provide results for cases and the extra steps that they will take to go above and beyond for all cases, shows just how much they care about the work that they perform.”
