Unity Starts in the Heart, Annual Dream Fest Essay Contest Prompt: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is recognized as a man of faith, an activist, and someone who made significant impact with the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. King said, “We have before us the glorious opportunity to inject a new dimension of love into the veins of our civilization.” This year’s theme is “Unity Starts in the Heart.”
Write an essay describing what the theme means to you and how you can contribute the unity of your community.
Directions: Respond to the above prompt in a word-processed document no more than two pages, font size 12, double spaced.

1st Place - $100 **
2nd Place - $50
3rd Place - $25
** Winner will present their essay at the MLK Unity Walk & Presentation on Monday, January 16th at 9 am at Liberty Park.
MLK Unity Walk will begin at 9:00 am at the Valerie Theatre Plaza and proceed down North Apopka to the Depot Pavilion.
Commemoration will begin at the Liberty Park Water Tower Stage immediately following the walk.
