Citrus, did you know you can also TEXT 9-1-1 during an emergency?

It is always suggested to call if you can, but texting is an option if you can’t. Texting 9-1-1 can be useful for times where you cannot safely speak on the phone, for those who are hearing impaired, or if you are having a medical emergency and cannot speak on the phone.

When texting 9-1-1-, try to send as much information as you can. Include the location of the emergency and a brief description of what’s happening. Our communications officers will then receive this text, and follow up with questions and other information, as any 9-1-1 call would, and get you the help you need.
