Citrus County Sheriff's Office recently issued the following announcement.
Today is the start of the nationwide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign which continues through the dangerous Labor Day weekend. Our office is proud to join NHTSA in reminding drivers that it is NEVER okay to drink and drive.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), one person is killed in a drunk-driving crash every 52 minutes. Designate a sober driver before you start drinking, or call a ride-share or taxi to get you home safely.
